Such an amazing little invention. To truly grasp the impact that the screw has on my daily life, I imagined that all the screws of the world suddenly vanished. First of all, my computer would fall apart. Lights would fall from the ceiling. I wouldn’t even THINK about driving my car (assuming I could get it started). Our entire transportation would come to a halt – probably our communications system too. I shudder when I think of the impact would have on hospitals and the medical community. I’ve seen major supports of buildings held together by what looked like enormous screws (Yikes!) So, today I give pause to appreciate the screw and how it helps to hold my life together 😉
