The knowledge that is passed down is amazing. If you’ve ever played “telephone”, you know how interpretations can skew information. Passing down this information in written form avoids that phenomenon. Imagine what Plato’s “Republic” might sound like if it were passed down verbally. Maybe 1 + 1 would equal 12. ;). Today I pause to appreciate the untainted knowledge provided by educational books.
