Positive 1

Lunch with my Happiness buddy Carolyn Bradshaw, we don’t do it often enough.

Positive 2

We went where they had liver, oh I needed liver and it was great.

Positive 3

The clouds today were so amazing and fluffy.  I was so amazed at the sky today. It made driving the 100 miles around town more pleasant. (yes 100 miles of city driving)

Positive 1

Last night with the wind howling I woke up several times and was grateful to be in a warm shelter and a cozy bed. I always think how hard it must of been before all our comforts and am thankful.

Positive 2

Winter Solstice is here and now each day there will be more light! I am always happy for this day.

Positive 3

I just finished listening to Soul Surfer. On amazing race Bethany impressed me so much with her strength and positive outlook. I had to hear more how she did that. Very impressive young lady, we need more role models like her.

Mom went to a rehab today, she still sick but much better. At least she is physically more comfortable.

Positive 2

I am so glad for the rain instead of the snow and they said it is still really helping our water so perfect for me.

Positive 3

I had wanted to go out of town for Christmas and was disappointed those plans fell through. But itsn’t it amazing how the positive in that is that if I was gone I would just be worried about my mom so I am glad it fell through.

I am enjoying the struggle of building a new business. If everything was easy, it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun. Some people play games or puzzles – I feel like I am playing the “game” of life and part of that is turning livelihood into prosperity. I feel SO blessed to have found my calling and get to practice it every day. I feel extremely fortunate to have such an amazing, supportive team. Today, I look not to hasten to the end but stand right in the middle of the struggle, enjoying the whole experience.

Two’s a pow wow but Three’s a meeting. Salt Lake Mental Health now officially has three clinicians. I guess that makes me the clinical director too – which is a little unnerving considering only 9 months ago I was in the office by myself. It was wonderful to have such fine professionals giving feedback and staffing cases. We bonded over orange juice, grapes and bagels. I feel truly honored to work with such amazing people.

The knowledge that is passed down is amazing. If you’ve ever played “telephone”, you know how interpretations can skew information. Passing down this information in written form avoids that phenomenon. Imagine what Plato’s “Republic” might sound like if it were passed down verbally. Maybe 1 + 1 would equal 12. ;). Today I pause to appreciate the untainted knowledge provided by educational books.

Today I had fun creating a profile on ted.com and commenting on some of the conversations. I even got a thumbs up for my comment about adult play grounds. It is so wonderful to be in a position to correspond with people from all over the world about favorite subjects – such as Happiness/Positive Psychology 🙂

I am catching the genealogy bug again. FTM used to cost a couple hundred dollars. I think this time it cost me only $40 – plus I got a couple of free weeks at Ancestry.com. I’ve really missed it. I remember back when I was doing everything on paper – now with FTM and Ancestry.com I can locate a census, download it to my computer and link it to all the family members found in the census. ‘Pretty amazing. It used to cost me $3.50 and three weeks time to order one film. I’m loving technology right about now. 🙂

Today I want to acknowledge one of my friends for the amazing person that she is. She is giving, loving, creative, honest, funny, a hard-worker, innovative, diligent, humble, accepting, smart, courageous, ethical, positive, down-to-earth, kind and trust-worthy. She is a good friend – the type of person that would drop everything to be there when you need her. She can also be a mother bear when she sees injustice against those who may not be in a position to stick up for themselves. Today I express deep appreciate for the friendship I have in Keli. I am a better person for knowing her.
