Once a year, in the first week in March, an amazing group of people gather in Anchorage, Alaska to begin the Iditarod – one of the last real great races. Racing over 1,000 miles in freezing temperatures.
The prize is little more than half a million dollars, but honestly when you are (literally) out in the middle of Alaska with nothing but a sled and a pack of dogs – is it really about the money? These men and women do it for the the adventure; for the Alaska adventure. You can follow “The Last Great Race” by going to the www.iditarod.com
