In Happiness 101, I discuss many Happiness Habits, taken from Sonja Lyubomirsky’s book, The How of Happiness. One of those 12 Happiness Habits is called “Flow”. Flow was a concept fully developed by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi. We call him “Mike”. Flow experiences are those that sweep you up and usually cause you to totally forget about the time. Chess is one of those activities for me. When I am playing, time seems to take on a different beat. Five minutes seems like fifteen. It is a great way for me to stretch a short break.
