There have been many times that I have dropped something on my toe, only to be deflected by the mighty shell of my toenail. Not for me, but I know the toenail is an opportunity on the body to decorate (such as with nail polish). Some people even do miniature murals. I suppose a long toenail could be used as a kind of weapon. Lastly, the growth of my toenails give me an opportunity to get reacquainted with my feet on a regular basis 🙂
