I watched The Switch the other night and there was a scene where a man was lovingly picking lice from a child’s hair. It brought back a very fond memory of my brother who had caught lice by sharing a BMX helmet. He had very long hair and did not want to cut it. So, every night I spent the evening picking lice from his hair. Before that, we rarely just sat down and spent time together. When I think back, those hours we spent together were some of the most bonding moments. After all, it’s easy to say “I love you” but when someone is willing to pick lice from your hair, it shows they really care.
