Positive #3 Reflective Listening

This is something I teach couples in therapy but I also use it in my daily life. Today I used this skill to get through a difficult conversation (yes, just because I’m a therapist, doesn’t mean I am immune to difficult conversations). It worked very well to keep the discussion calm and respectful, allowing myself and the other person to be not just heard but truly listened to.
