The few times my car wouldn’t start gave me the opportunity to be thankful for all the times it did. Bad weather helps me to appreciate good weather. Cancellations make me glad for the people who show up. A locked bathroom door thwarts taking for granted all the times it’s not. Bouts of physical pain make me glad when I am not. Today I appreciate the variety adversity brings.
