I bought a new guitar book today from B&N. It’s got some good stuff in it – Hit from yesterday and today (that sounds like a radio station tag line, doesn’t it? But it’s true). I had so much fun trying out different songs that two hours went by without me even noticing. I never thought that “Smells Like Teen Spirit” would find it’s way into a positive but it did. I laid the rhythm down with the looper then picked out the lead and played over the top of it. I would also include the fact that I appreciate living in a house (vs. an apartment or condo) so I can play it LOUD! That part is big enough to deserve it’s own positive though. “Flow”, by the way, is a term in Positive Psychology referring to enjoying something so much that you lose all track of time. What’s YOUR flow activity?

You know I am a very busy person and sometimes it is fun to just do something that’s completely frivolous. Today I discovered “JetSet Secrets” here on FB. I must say I haven’t had that much fun finding objects in a picture since I was a kid. The storyline is very pretty cool and the graphics are great too. The best part was enlisting the help of my honey, who just HAD to cuddle up close – you know, to get a good look at the screen and help out. Hey, anything that brings me and my honey that close deserves its own positive. 😉

I am enjoying the struggle of building a new business. If everything was easy, it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun. Some people play games or puzzles – I feel like I am playing the “game” of life and part of that is turning livelihood into prosperity. I feel SO blessed to have found my calling and get to practice it every day. I feel extremely fortunate to have such an amazing, supportive team. Today, I look not to hasten to the end but stand right in the middle of the struggle, enjoying the whole experience.

My phone has been going into a kind of electronic convulsions when I plug it in to charge. But I noticed it only does it some of the time. I was patient and stuck it out. Eventually the phone became completely charged. I have a lot of fun apps on my phone but none of them will do me any good if I can’t charge the phone. So, right now I appreciate that the phone will still accept a charge.

I swear they should have a 12-step group for these things because I swear I’m addicted. ‘Have a thought? Yellow Stickie. To-do list? Yellow Stickie. Reminder note? Yellow Stickie. Emergency dental floss? Gross but true. I have even used them when trying to “underline” something on my computer screen. Oh! And the best use of all: the yellow stickie love note.

Two’s a pow wow but Three’s a meeting. Salt Lake Mental Health now officially has three clinicians. I guess that makes me the clinical director too – which is a little unnerving considering only 9 months ago I was in the office by myself. It was wonderful to have such fine professionals giving feedback and staffing cases. We bonded over orange juice, grapes and bagels. I feel truly honored to work with such amazing people.

They were really rather pricey and after getting the lecture about carefully acclimating them to the new tank, it was a bit concerning seeing them flopping about on the soaked floor mats of my friend’s car. Not only did they survive, they appear to be thriving in their new home. Their dark color and blood red tail is a beautiful contrast to the blond natives. The new angel fish is doing well too.

This song was in “A Star is Born”. The happier I become, the more I feel like this. I am so busy because “I’m like a child at the fun fair. Every ride invites me”. I want to make a movie. I want to write music. I want to offer Happiness 101 on YouTube. I want to do more to raise awareness for suicide prevention. I want to play guitar. I want to spend quality time with my wife. I want “the perfect twin. One who’d go out, as I came in”. In other words, I want “Everything”. If you think back to when you were a child, you might remember not wanting to go to sleep because you might miss something. I feel like that much of the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXrU1AGKF40

I am really excited about the Happiness Social because most of the current Happiness 101 class will be present for this special event. I am really looking forward to it. It’s kind of like knowing when the good part in the movie is coming up and you’re so excited you can barely keep from making a nuisance of yourself 😉 http://www.meetup.com/The-Salt-Lake-Happiness-Group/events/84877242/
